Visit to Sliedrecht family business LascoAlderman Roelant Bijderwieden and account manager Jasper van Maren visited the Sliedrecht company Lasco Staalbouw B.V. on Wednesday 12 February 2025.

👨‍💼👨‍💼 Richard and Thijs van der Vlies, two of the three directors, warmly welcomed the men. Richard and Thijs are the third generation of Van der Vlies since the company was founded in 1961.

🪣 The company started as a fastener for dredging buckets. The company then grew into a producer of pipes, flanges and bends for dredging vessels, among other things. In this way, the company fits in with the tradition of dredging companies in Sliedrecht.

🤝 The company has good relations with local residents. The relationship with their approximately 35 employees, most of whom work in production, is also good. In collaboration with vocational schools, new employees are trained via BBL programs and internships.

🧑‍🔧 A tour of the company has given the alderman and account manager a lot of insight into the work and the precision that this requires from the employees. In addition, Lasco invests in new innovative technology, which further increases precision.
